Tray of tray column is the main mass transfer element. According to different gas-liquid contact elements, it can be divided into bubble column, tray column float valve column, tongue column and floating jet column; according to gas-liquid two-phase flow mode, there are cross-flow tray column and counter-flow tray column, or called tray with downcomer and tray without downcomer; according to liquid flow mode, there are single overflow type and double overflow type. A plurality of bubble cap trays are horizontally arranged in the bubble cap tower according to a certain interval, liquid flows through each layer plate from top to bottom under the action of gravity and then is discharged from the bottom of the tower to maintain a flowing liquid layer with a certain thickness on each layer tray; gas is pushed by pressure difference to sequentially pass through the liquid layer on each tray from the bottom of the tower and rise to the top of the tower to be discharged.
Gas and liquid contact plate by plate in the tower for mass and heat exchange. Each layer of bubble cap tray is provided with several holes, and the riser pipe is covered with bubble caps. When the ascending gas enters the liquid layer through the bubble caps, it is dispersed into many fine bubbles, providing a large number of mass transfer interfaces for the gas-liquid two phases. Bubble columns may be considered only in certain circumstances, such as large capacity variations, high operational stability requirements, and relatively stable separation capabilities.
